Our Story
✻
The Rose & Crown pub in Calgary was originally a funeral home, built in the 1920’s. The historic building was made into a bar in 1986. When renovating, the owners only changed what was needed to make it a functional bar. If they could keep aspects that kept it historic, they would. On the third floor you will find the original wallpaper and many artifacts that have been there since the first owners. Walking into to the Rose is very comforting with a warm yellow color and dark wood, it is the perfect place to grab a pint after a hard day of work. The Rose is rated on of the top four haunted places in Calgary. From its previous use as a funeral home it is no wonder that it is believed ghosts occupy some of the space. It is said that a little boy died in the house who still shows his presence in pictures. Almost everyone who has worked in the building has had some type of encounter or the feeling they’re not alone.
